Empty Jam Jar Lemonade

This Empty Jam Jar Lemonade is one of those simple kitchen hacks that instantly makes you wonder why you haven’t been doing it for years. Instead of rinsing out the last bit of jam and tossing the jar into the recycling, turn it into a refreshing homemade drink with just a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, ice, and cold water.

As you shake everything together, the leftover jam dissolves into the water, creating a lightly sweetened fruit lemonade that’s full of flavour without any extra effort. Whether you’ve got strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, or mixed berry jam, each jar creates its own unique twist on this refreshing drink.

Not only is this a fun way to reduce food waste, but it’s also perfect for warm spring and summer afternoons when you’re craving something cold and refreshing. Garnish it with fresh mint, sliced lemons, or a handful of berries for an extra burst of flavour and a drink that looks just as beautiful as it tastes.

We love this hack because it makes use of every last spoonful of jam while creating something completely new. It’s quick enough to make in under five minutes, requires almost no cleanup, and is a fun recipe to make with kids or whenever you’re looking for a refreshing drink without reaching for a bottle of juice or soda.

Sometimes the best recipes aren’t really recipes at all, they’re clever little tricks that make everyday ingredients go further. This Empty Jam Jar Lemonade is exactly that, and once you try it, you’ll never look at an empty jam jar the same way again.
