Honey Garlic Breakfast Sandwich
There’s something about a good breakfast sandwich that never disappoints. Whether you’re making a slow weekend breakfast or grabbing something before heading out the door, it’s one of those meals that’s simple, comforting, and always hits the spot.
Our version uses Dempsey Farms’ honey garlic sausage, melty American cheese, a perfectly cooked egg, and a toasted bun with just enough light mayo to bring everything together. It’s packed with flavour, comes together in about 15 minutes, and tastes like something you’d order from your favourite breakfast spot.
The best part is how easy it is to customize. Swap the honey garlic sausage for bacon, breakfast sausage, turkey sausage, or even ham. Change up the cheese with cheddar, Swiss, pepper jack, or mozzarella, and use whatever bread you have on hand, burger buns, English muffins, bagels, brioche buns, or croissants all work beautifully.
No matter how you build it, a breakfast sandwich is one of those meals that’s hard not to love, and this recipe is a great place to start.

Honey Garlic Breakfast Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 honey garlic sausage link 100 g
- 1 slice American cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 burger bun
- 1 tbsp light mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for cooking (optional)
Instructions
- Remove the casing from the honey garlic sausage link and shape the sausage meat into a patty slightly larger than the burger bun, as it will shrink while cooking.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sausage patty for 3–4 minutes on the first side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Flip the sausage patty and place the American cheese slice on top. Continue cooking until the cheese melts and the sausage reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- Meanwhile, slice the burger bun and toast the inside until lightly golden.
- Cook the egg in the skillet to your preferred doneness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread light mayonnaise on the top and bottom halves of the toasted bun.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing the sausage patty with melted cheese on the bottom bun, followed by the cooked egg.
- Add the top bun and serve immediately.
